Experience

A wide range of Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs) where students develop new skills in technology, the arts, sports and the environment. Our broad Outdoor Education program offers hiking, orienteering, climbing, skiing and snowboarding, snow showing and kayaking, etc. There are also numerous trips throughout the year with different purposes, from Service to Action.

Extra Curricular Activities

Students have a wide range of activities to choose from. ECAs are organized into three seasons during the year. Activities range from Team Sports such as football, basketball and volleyball; Individual Sports such as badminton, golf and karate; Arts such as painting/drawing, Drama, Technology, Lego robotics, programming, Drone flying etc; Debate and public speaking through the Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN); Outdoor education options such as camping, hiking and orienteering through the international Award, and many others.

The International Award (IA)

CAIS has been registered as a Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Centre. The first cohort of IA students entered the IA programme in the Fall of 2019. Students are engaged in hiking and camping and the final evaluation includes a student led overnight expedition. Our most recent group of students completed their requirements to the IA.

Real-life experiences

CAIS provides a broad,  holistic educational experience for all students  that includes opportunities to develop interests and passions in outdoor activities. The Outdoor Education programme includes hiking, mountain biking, camping and snow sports.

Expeditions

CAIS is developing a series of Expeditions. Thanks to the advice and help of the experienced Scuba Diving trip leaders at Yokohama International School, CAIS teacher Paul Bergot planned and organized the first CAIS scuba diving expedition which took place in early November 2019.
